For every Kpop fan, there’s a longing to experience the joy of cooking ramyeon with one of those self-cooking machines often found at convenience stores near the Han river where idols gather. The newly opened Seoul Bunsik brings this experience to you, alongside a selection of Korean street food at affordable prices.
At Seoul Bunsik, you’ll find a diverse range of ramyeon options ($8.80) to choose from, including Shin Ramyun, Neoguri, and even the Ssamyang Buldak for those who enjoy an extra spicy ramyeon. To add more flavour to your ramyeon, you can also add on toppings such as cheese, eggs, and spam from $1. You will be given an aluminium foil bowl to cook your ramyeon, and after pressing a couple of buttons on the machine, voila! Your ramyeon is done.
Besides ramyeon, Seoul Bunsik also offers other Korean street food such as gimbap (from $10), and kimchi fried rice ($15). Those looking for a small snack can opt for the ggoma gimbap ($5), a bite-sized version with five different flavours to choose from: tuna, cheese, vegetable, spam, and kimchi. Snack on corndogs ($7) and o daeng (fish skewer, $2.50 for one stick) to tide you through the day until dinner. Of course, no Korean store would be complete without fried chicken (from $15) and tteokbokki ($15). Both items are coated generously with a sweet and spicy sauce for a flavourful explosion with every bite.
