Named after the Sistine Chapel’s famous fresco in the Vatican City, Original Sin is Singapore’s first and only Mediterranean and Italian vegetarian restaurant, established in 1997. Get the best of both cuisines (the menu also has a lot of Italian dishes) with the Mediterranean Pizza ($31) for instance, with feta, olives, spinach, semi-dried tomatoes, and Spanish onion. Who said vegetarian food was boring? The vibrant and very colourful Roasted Vegetable Quinoa Salad (with roasted pumpkin, beetroot, cauliflower, onion, baby spinach and feta), and the Falafel Salad with feta and greens (both $22 each), will change your mind. Other popular house favourites and chef specials include the sharing Mezze Platter ($27) featuring hummus, beetroot and walnut dip, capsicum and almond dip, served with fried feta, falafel balls, tzatziki and pita bread; classic comfort food Moussaka ($32) for baked layers of eggplant, potato, tomato, Middle Eastern spiced lentils, topped with béchamel; as well as the spinach-feta Spanakopita (also $32).
