Stashed away in the lush hills is Mr Bucket Chocolaterie’s first-ever Dempsey factory with stunning aesthetics around every turn of a corner. Opening its doors on December 3, fans of the homegrown brand are treated to multi-sensory zones to experience and enjoy the cacao fruit from bean to bar. Think Singapore’s first-ever build-your-own chocolate slab station, an indoor and outdoor dining experience, and a new chocolate dispensary where you can buy your favourite chocolate treats sustainably. The 5,000 square feet space also has dedicated viewing zones across the property so you’d be able to witness the enchanting bean-to-bar process.

Once you’re done marvelling at the magical processes, it is time to taste the whimsical chocolatey creations at the Tasting Room. For a good glimpse of the provenance of the cacao beans, the Bean-to-Bar journey is best represented by a flight (pictured above) that begins with the cacao bean dark chocolate. Then a cacao husk lemon tea cleanses the palate for other imaginative treats: 66 percent chocolate bar, double soy caramel bonbon, and 64 percent chocolate passionfruit sable.
Inspired by Roald Dahl’s novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Mr Bucket Chocolaterie has big plans to revitalise the Asian chocolate industry by advocating for small cacao farmers in the region. The brand’s passion and dedication to its craft can be witnessed through its chocolate-making approach. Not only that, but they also house curated workshops and events that seek to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the Asian cacao industry and perhaps even inspire new generations of cacao lovers to come.
