LUCE translates to “light” in Italian, and that's made obvious at this new Italian restaurant that's just opened in InterContinental Singapore. In casting a spotlight on fresh, local ingredients, with a focus on seasonals that are refreshed each quarter, you can expect bright flavours – all in a warm atmosphere that's coupled with authentic Italian hospitality.
Food here is as Italian as it gets. With a heavy emphasis on showcasing Italian authenticity through his hometown classics, chef Giacomelli’s menu features the likes of timeless starters such as bruschetta ($19) and Parmigiana di Melanzane ($19). His signature main stays true to his roots with the acquerello lobster ($46), carnaroli rice cooked in lobster stock served with half a Boston lobster and chervil.
But the real showstopper is definitely the Merluzzo alla Puttanesca ($46) where melt-in-your-mouth Atlantic cod sits in a moat of homemade Puttanesca sauce and finished with taggiasca olives, anchovies, Pantelleria capers and fresh herbs.
