A sense of calm immediately washes over us the minute we step through the doors of Ganglemedo. It could be because the restaurant reminds us of a Zen temple or a spa retreat, but there's no denying that this restaurant is here to heal the body and soul of those working in the area. The Tibetan vegetarian restaurant specialises in cordyceps, which is said to improve the immune system and enhance energy and stamina. Try it tossed in a salad with carrots, radish and enoki, with noodles coated in a Chinese truffle and cordycep sauce or in a comforting bowl of double-boiled soup stewed with black truffle, matsutake and bamboo fungus. It also has a range of soups – mushroom, white pea and hot and sour – available served in an individual hot pot alongside an array of seasonal vegetables.
