There is no lack of coffee shops in the CBD to fuel the work crowd. But the latest player Flash Coffee stands out, quite literally, with its bright colour scheme and affordable pricing. The Indonesia-based coffee chain is best known for its striking all-yellow interior – a deliberate choice to help lend some cheer and fun for people grabbing a cuppa in the morning. Drinks here start from just $3, and are made with double ristretto shots to deliver a stronger punch of flavour.
Sample the brews in classic concoctions of americano ($2.80), latte ($3.80), and the dairy-free Oatly cappuccino ($4.80), or spice up your usual order with new-fangled creations of macadamia latte ($4.80) and the Singapore-exclusive espresso tonic ($4.80).
Other standouts, and our personal favourites, include the Melaka latte ($4.80), perfumed with fragrant palm sugar sourced from Malaysia; the refreshing lychee espresso soda ($5.40), which delivers a fizzy, tropical dose of caffeine; as well as the soothing detox latte ($4.80), a caffeine-free drink redolent of warm turmeric.
And to cater to changing tastebuds, Flash Coffee has a wide selection of dairy-free milk options of soy, oat, almond, and coconut, alongside a line-up of non-coffee drinks. The innovative coffee chain plans to switch up its offerings regularly, too. In the pipeline: healthy protein shakes and coffee spiked with creamy avocado. A mobile application, with a nifty rewards system and convenient subscription service, is also in the works.
