En Sakaba is a small eatery on the first floor of Orchard Central that serves both small plates and hearty Japanese rice bowls. Its signature item is grilled hotate served in its shell. The plump scallops can be garnished with four optional toppings: uni sauce, foie gras, zuwai kani and miso, or mentaiko cheese to kick the flavour up a notch.
On the donburi side of things, the En kaisen chirashi don ($28) is topped with 15 types of seafood including crab, uni and ikura. Another favourite is the foie gras yakiniku onsen tamago don ($22). We like how the beef is only lightly seared on the outside, leaving the marbled meat raw in the middle.
