That Greek-blue paint job’s really worked wonders: Emporium has been around since June 2010, but until recently, it was known as that nondescript two-shophouse bar-restaurant on the corner of Ann Siang Hill with a pinkish, dusty exterior. Forget the lantern-lighted bar on the first floor and the white-tableclothed dining room with a piano on the second; did you even know about the rooftop space? The roof’s not open to the public, but you can sneak up during dinner. The menu does seem to be all over the place (Italian, French, Thai and Japanese to name a few cuisines), but the gluten-free highlights make this kitchen a rarity.
