If this name sounds familiar, it’s probably because you’ve encountered viral videos of the award-winning patissier’s fruit-inspired creations on Instagram and TikTok. Known for his painstakingly realistic confections and entremets, Cedric Grolet will open his very own patisserie in Singapore – his first and only outlet in Asia. The patisserie, which will serve breakfast and afternoon tea, opens at Como Orchard on September 14.
The stylish 40-seater space is open for walk-ins but if you're not one to take chances, half of the cafe's seats are made available for reservations only. Expect classic viennoiseries like flaky croissants, pain au chocolat, and Parisian flan readily available to please. As for the signature fruit-sculpted delights, online pre-orders have begun. But take note that not all of the edible works of art will be available during the launch as they all have dedicated release dates.
Here are some note-worthy dates to take note of if you're looking to get first dibs on these goodies ($26): September 15 for the hyper-realistic Vanilla Bean; and September 17 for the grand line-up of Mango Ginger Flower, Paris Brest Flower, Lychee and Dragonfruit. For Mid-Autumn, the French maestro also presents his take on mooncakes (from $52) that come flavoured with banana, caramel and milk chocolate.
