To get to Aniba, you’ll first need to locate its inconspicuous entrance by the Singapore River and head up a private elevator. From there, follow the dimly-lit, cavernous entrance and it’ll take you to the modern Middle Eastern restaurant, fitted with a bustling chef’s kitchen, stunning riverfront views, and a cocktail bar with unique glowing orbs that come alive every now and then.
The kitchen whips up inventive Middle Eastern plates, executed with European finesse and a local touch, while the bar shakes up cocktails that are thoughtfully curated to pair with the menu. Must-orders include the house-baked Jerusalem bagel, eggplant carpaccio ($29), and the restaurant’s signature pani puri ($12) that’s topped with hamachi sashimi, candied mandarin and yogurt-yuzu foam. Other delights include the Arabic salad ceviche ($37), and a generous portion of grilled grouper ($79) doused with bouillabaisse and homemade hummus cream.
End the meal with a vibrant Malabi ($23) dessert, or retreat to the bar to try concoctions like the Dome of the Rock Melon ($28) – a clarified milk-washed punch. Up for something different? Go for the herbaceous and slightly spicy Jardin Majorelle ($27), or Sip on Marrakesh – a funky tropical rum drink with beetroot notes ($25).
