If you regularly go to cafés to get some work done, Acoustics Coffee Bar is likely already on your radar. The café at Neil Road is known for its use of acoustic wood panels to minimise echo and create a conducive environment for customers who wish to have a peaceful chat with friends or spend some quality time alone. The immense popularity of Acoustics has led to the opening of its second outlet, located along Owen Road.
The new space spans over two storeys. The first floor acts as a workspace for those looking for a quiet spot for a productive work or study session, and the second floor is dedicated to those looking to spend quality time with their friends or family over a nice meal or a cup of coffee. Both floors are equipped with the same acoustic wood panels to ensure a peaceful environment, as well as sound speakers playing soothing bossa nova music for you to chill and unwind to.
A new outlet means a new menu, and Acoustics’ new menu features dishes curated by MasterChef Singapore finalist Mandy Kee, such as the kerabu salad ($14), coconut spiced lemak curry and golden baos ($22), and nasi bakar ($18). The newly added pandan tiramisu ($16) is also by Mandy Kee, and is a build-it-yourself dessert where you douse the lady finger biscuits in espresso and pandan sabayon mascarpone cheese, and top it off with toasted desiccated coconut and ube powder.
Alongside Mandy Kee’s inclusions, Acoustics’ new flavours for its cloud coffee series are also making its debut and will remain exclusive to the Owen Road outlet. The flavours include pandan ($9), houjicha ($9), and dark ($8), which is a black coffee with Acoustics’ signature sweet cream. Those who prefer something a bit lighter can opt for the orange infused pineapple coffee ($9), or the lychee nojito ($8), a refreshing soda with lychee syrup, mint extract, lime juice, and pomegranate.
