Trained under the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe programme, coowner and head barista Sue Wai Lei brews Project ‘Y’, a house blend of organic Brazillian and Sumatran coffee beans micro roasted locally by Smitten Coffee Roaster (standard double-shot coffees from $3.50, beans $16/250g). For something more than the customary, try the house’s eight-hour overnight cold brew houjicha ($6). Using artisanal breads from Bakery Artisan Original, the café also pushes out on weekdays a popular Reuben roast beef sandwich ($9.50) packed with Swiss cheese and a rosemary cucumber and carrot pickle, and a strawberry, blueberries and banana dessert toast ($10.80) for the working crowd.
