For Ken Chia, it’s opening the family-themed Rice & Fries – just a stone’s throw from Kembangan MRT. Between spending time with his family and conceptualising healthy recipes for the Health Promotion Board, Chia rustles up generous portions of his signature lamb shank in a mushroom ragout paired with mash ($24.80) and rosemary chicken with red wine jus ($9.80) at this 50-seater, where the no service charge policy makes for a nice touch. The young ones are not forgotten either – kiddy meals ($8.80) come with a main, drink and scoop of ice cream.
