Outpost Bar & Bistro

Yet another new concept to open at the St James Power Station complex, Outpost Bar & Bistro (not to be confused with Joo Chiat bottle shop Outpost Trading Co) offers Singapore a new live music venue with food to boot. With a line-up of regular nights that includes local acts like HubbaBubbas, AlphaBeat and Jack & Rai, the space also looks to promote up-and-coming talents with open mic opportunities for original compositions on Tuesday nights. To munch along with the music, local chef David Lui turns out comfort Western bar grub like homemade crab cakes ($16), button mushrooms sautéed with truffles ($15) and a trio of Outpost mini burgers ($18) to pair with a selection of 100 drinks, including the flashy signature of Outpost: Ice and Fire ($20) – a duo of cocktails that’s simultaneously cold and on fire.
