Eden Café’s founder Clement Ronald Ng has a passion for floral cuisine and healthy cooking, avoiding all the usual additives in favour of natural ingredients. However, don’t assume this means that all the food here lacks flavour or that the café is devoid of any naughty treats. The rose-petal brownies and hibiscus cheese filo will prove you wrong on both counts. Unfortunately, the rest of the food (and the service) at this little Club Street eatery is a bit hit-and-miss, although the weekly lunch specials help liven up the rather unimaginative menu. What can’t be criticised is the wealth of tea choices – more than 100 types from around the world, each served in a range of interesting glass teapots. A second outlet, Eden Sanctuary, opened its doors for business in May 2008 at 44 Rochester Park.
