Suburban Spanish fare is something you’d expect to find in the back streets of Barcelona, not a shophouse bordering Bukit Batok. But in just nine months, Don Quijote became the casa of choice for lovers of Spain’s lip-smacking food and wine.
Starting off in a disguised area off Jalan Jurong Kechil, the Spanish restaurant has now moved to Dempsey Village, boasting a bountiful array of delicioso classics, like the sizzling seafood paella Valenciana with its rice in a pan, pinchos morunos (beef on the spit), rollitos de espárragos y beicon (asparagus and bacon rolls) and the pastel de chocolate caliente (hot chocolate cake).
Complement it all with a glass – or three – of sangria and you’ll be rolling your r’s before the bill arrives.
