The largest satay distributor in town, City Satay, has pulled together dishes and seats for a Western-themed barbecue resto. Lights fall on cowboys-and-Indians-themed walls that flank sets of four-seater standard wooden furniture on lacquered floors. Dishes like baby pork ribs with hickory-smoked barbecue or honey-cranberry sauce (full slab only, $19.90), buffalo wings ($9.90) and cheese fries ($4.90) make up the entirely grilled (over lava rocks, not charcoal) and roasted menu, with the exception of the daily-changing soup offering, of course. Also plated up is a selection of flame-grilled ‘skewers’ – from honey mustard to Jamaican, Mediterranean and Cajun chicken – and the familiar, street-style satay.
