Named after a flower in bloom, Anthesis joins the list of idyllic brunch luminaries on the banks of the Singapore River. Bright, loft-like surroundings add to the rustic feel of the place, where the menu’s designed to trumpet the skills of master baker Gan Eng Liang – freshly-baked varieties like dark rye, pumpkin seed and olive focaccia can be found in brunch staples such as the tuna tataki topped with avocado salsa ($18); for sweet nibbles, don’t miss the passionfruit yuzu meringue tart ($5.80). Drinks-wise, coffee is a custom house-blend of Brazilian, Guatemalan and Sumatran beans ($4-$5) while organic teas ($9) are from American purveyor Art of Tea.
