Can hear that? That's the weekend calling, so check out our round-up of things to do this weekend, as well as our 28-day plan, to keep you inspired at home. But if you looking to expand your horizons, here's where our new series comes in. In this series, we bring you a daily dose of the things we’re loving right now including food, music, movies, workouts and more – all of which you can also experience from the comfort and safety of your sweet digs during this circuit breaker period.

Yesterday, we got a history lesson from the National Museum of Singapore's digital exhibition An Old New World, then we tried the James Dyson Foundation Challenge Cards with the kids, and looked forward to The Necessary Stage's watch party featuring one of its popular productions Those Who Can't, Teach (which is happening tonight). And today, we're supporting our favourite watering hole via a virtual bar, getting some inspo and #fitspo from Adidas Singapore's #Hometeam, and watching penguins play tourists in Singapore with hearts in our eyes.

1887 Virtual Bar
Fancy a tipple a two? We could all use a drink, especially during these strange times. While bars including speakeasies are closed (it's like a blast to the past) due to the circuit breaker, William Grant & Sons is teaming up with some of our favourite local watering holes such as Shin Gi Tai, Nutmeg & Clove and more to stay 'open' via 1887 Virtual Bar where guest bartenders shake up special cocktails on Zoom. We get it – it's not the same IRL, but that doesn't make it any less like soup for the soul.

What you get out of the virtual bar, however, is purchasing 'em cocktails online, in which every $20 donated to any bar of choice entitles you to a drink voucher redeemable when the bar resumes operations. Yes, the virtual bar also doubles as a fundraiser – a first of its kind in Singapore. William Grant & Sons is also standing in solidarity with the bar community by matching the values of up to $1,000 per bar. Show your support with us by tuning in here. Next up is Colin Chia from Nutmeg & Clove, who will be flexing his bartending skills tonight at 8pm.

adidas Singapore’s #Hometeam
Today at noon, we're tuning in to a live lunchtime jam session with Jon Chua of local pop outfit The Sam Willows via Adidas Singapore's Instagram Live (@adidassg). This is part of Adidas' collaboration with local stars across the creative and wellness categories, where 'the brand with the three stripes' rolls out free virtual experiences via its social media platforms, encouraging home-stayers to keep active, practise mindfulness, and stay connected.

We're also setting our alarms for live lunchtime jams with pop artists Benjamin Kheng and Sezairi Sezali, pumping DJ sets with turntablists DJ KoFlow and Prav, and mindfulness reset sessions including breathing techniques for relieving stress with former national athlete Alex Loh and art journaling with Yang. Plus, pencilling in a photography sesh with popular shutterbug Aik Soon in our schedule.

For some heart-pumping action, we're gearing up for the live-streamed workouts and post-workout recovery sessions with Adidas Runners Singapore, as well as the brand’s Creators. And for afters, we're saving all the nutrition tips shared, as well as healthy recipes to try in the kitchen. African penguins from Singapore Zoo roam around the empty premises
Thanks to Wildlife Reserves Singapore, we can watch African penguins from the Singapore Zoo smile and wave (well, sort of) through our screens. The Zoo recently shared an adorable video featuring the flightless birds waddling around the empty park, as well as a snapshot of them exploring the deserted playground.

Don't worry, there were no animals harmed in the making of this. While operations have been suspended at all the Wildlife Reserves Singapore parks, the 15,000 animals in the parks continue to receive uncompromised care throughout this period of closure. According to Wildlife Reserves Singapore, animals benefit from enrichment just like us and the unique situation allowed zookeepers to take the penguins out for a treat. Can we all just take a moment to say "aww..."?

Recap of yesterday's daily dose: an immersive digital exhibition, fun kid-friendly challenges, and a watch party for theatre fans
