You’ve probably dozed off on the train one too many times on your morning commute. It might’ve been a tad embarrassing – snoozing with your mouth wide open in front of strangers – but Singapore’s new Train Pod @ one-north lets you drift off into dreamland in peace. And yes, it's inside a real decommissioned MRT train carriage.
What is the Train Pod @ one-north?
We’ve been blessed with various unique staycation places in Singapore, from a bus hotel to a shipping container. Now, we have another one to add to the list. Train Pod @ one-north is Singapore’s first co-living boutique hotel housed within an actual decommissioned MRT train. The project was launched by JTC’s LaunchPad, the same folks behind the shipping container hotels at Haw Par Villa and one-north.
What are the amenities available at the Train Pod @ one-north?

The Train Pod @ one-north features a total of eight rooms, each fitted with a private en suite bathroom. Train enthusiasts will be pleased to know that much of the original interior has been preserved – think handrails and even old MRT system maps adorning the walls.
Don’t miss the driver’s compartment while you’re there. While it’s not a sleeping space, it’s been transformed into a communal area for guests to check out. LCD panels display real-life footage from the train’s earlier journeys through Singapore’s tunnels – offering the vibe of a train ride, minus the actual motion.
Unlike real MRT trains where eating and drinking are a big no-no, you’re more than welcome to tuck into your snacks here. Forgot to bring food? No worries, as there are 24-hour F&B vending machines on-site. Or, mosey over to nearby dining establishments such as One Fattened Calf or Grains & Co. @ Timbre+ – both of which are within walking distance from the train pod. Enjoy your meal in the comfort of your room, or head out to the alfresco public dining area where train seats have been repurposed as benches. There are also bicycle racks available for those who ride to and from the pod.
Additionally, Tiny Pod has teamed up with local brands to integrate smart lock systems in each cabin, along with self check-in kiosks for a fuss-free arrival.
Where is the Train Pod @ one-north?
It’s not located at an actual MRT station. The Train Pod @ one-north is parked at the car park next to Block 69 Ayer Rajah Crescent – just a short seven-minute stroll from one-north MRT station.
When are bookings open for Train Pod @ one-north?
While the official launch date has not been confirmed, the hotel will be open for bookings in the second half of 2025. Stay updated via Tiny Pod’s website.
