So you aren’t ready to dine out just yet – understandable, given how rules of eating out aren’t quite what it used to be. But cooking at home can be troublesome, and delivery fees are steep. What can you do, then, when you’re in the mood for a gourmet meal?
Plank Sourdough Pizza has your back. The pizzeria, one of the first to use a sourdough base in Singapore, has recently launched its frozen, ready-to-cook range of pizzas that can be purchased at 26 FairPrice Finest outlets islandwide.
“Everyone can now savour a slice of Plank Sourdough Pizza, anytime, anywhere,” says founder Dean Brettschneider. Like those served in its outlets, the frozen Plank pies are similarly made using a 33-year-old starter, known affectionately as Little Johnny.
There are four options to choose from ($14.90 for 25cm), including the classic Queen Margherita, with marinara sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, cherry tomatoes, and basil pesto; and Beefy Pepperoni. If it’s bold flavours you’re after, get the Supreme Veggies, which comes with an accompanying packet of truffle oil to perfume the dish; or try the Spicy Hawaiian packed with a side of chilli sauce for extra heat.
The frozen pizzas are also Halal-certified, and can go straight from freezer to oven. Just wait 10 to 12 minutes and the piping hot pizza is ready to be served. That’s certainly faster than any pizza delivery.
