A list of the 100 Most Handsome Faces of 2023 has recently emerged, and it just so happens that we have not one, but two dashing Singaporean representatives on this global list – both of whom are familiar faces in our local entertainment scene.
Making his debut on the list is 30-year-old actor, model, and television host Ayden Sng, who has snagged 14th place. Acknowledging the recognition on Instagram, Ayden has reposted a screengrab of his feature, with a caption reading, “Wrapping up the year with this! Feel so honoured to be a Singapore rep. Swipe to see when I think I look the best - cause [hardworking men are the most handsome]”
Interestingly, the rest of the photos he posted are all stills of him in acting scenes where he’s looking angry, in tears, or in a state of distress – as opposed to picture-perfect model-esque shots.
Ayden outranks the likes of Korean idols Jung Kook (#16) and Jimin (#46), former One Direction members Zayn Malik (#26) and Harry Styles (#31), and Hollywood stars like Jason Momoa (#21) and Chris Evans (#61).
Also in the charts is 26-year-old actor-singer Glenn Yong, who’s appearing on the list for the second year in a row. He first ranked at number 62 in 2022 – a couple of spots higher than his current 75th place for 2023.
On the other hand, no Singaporean female managed to rank in the list of Most Beautiful Faces for 2023.
While it is undeniable that both men are good looking – as well as highly talented – in their own right, it is worth noting that the nomination and voting process is partly based on paid contributions by fans, whereby paid memberships are required in order for you to show your support for your favourite celebrity. In fact, there are three membership levels ranging from $4.50 to $14 a month, and the number of nominations and votes you can make would depend on your patron tier.

According to TC Candler, the organisation that holds this annual award, the final list of 100 was narrowed down from a rough 300,000 celebrities from all across the world. They also maintain that aesthetic beauty is only one of the benchmarks for the rankings, and other qualities including but not limited to ‘elegance’, ‘originality’, ‘passion’, and ‘poise’ are also considered.
