The World’s 50 Best Bars has been bestowing top honours to drinking spots all over the world since 2009, and a week before the grand reveal of the top 50, the extended 51 to 100 list has been revealed for the sixth year today. Out of the 14 Asian bars, eight were Singaporean, the most for any city yet again. This year sees two new entries of the sustainably-driven Analogue ranking No.65 and ritzy Republic squeezing in at the No.90 spot.

Other Singapore bars that made the list are Sago House, clinching the highest rank – so far – at No.51. 28 HongKong Street follows closely at No.55, where both of which raised up higher than the previous year. MO Bar sits comfortably at No.57, Atlas at No.67, No Sleep Club at No.69 and the anticipated comeback of Nutmeg & Clove at No.74. Outside of Singapore, there are also 15 new entries on the list, with five cities featuring for the first time: Kraków, Bratislava, Manchester, Playa Del Carmen and Bogotá. If you're wondering who gets a say, winners were chosen by more than 650 international “drink experts” consisting of renowned bartenders, educators and consultants to drinks writers and cocktail specialists.

Meanwhile, congratulations to all the winning bars that made the extended 51 to 100 list! As we patiently await the upcoming release of the Top 50 list, this year sees the ceremony leaving London for the very first time. Hosting the event in Barcelona instead on October 4 to reflect an important milestone of the return of international travel which will indefinitely cast a wider spotlight on a greater number of bars globally. “We decided to take the ceremony outside of London for the first time in order to shine a light on the other great cocktail cities of the world, and we are delighted to see so many new cities appear on the extended list for the first time – being able to recognise 32 different global cities out of the available 50 positions is particularly pleasing. All the bars announced today have continued, with outstanding resilience, to overcome the challenges that still face the industry, and it gives us great pleasure to celebrate double the number of establishments and their achievements,” says Mark Sansom, Director of Content for The World’s 50 Best Bars.
