It’s official: Singapore’s green spaces are catching global attention. In a recent survey done by Titan Travel, two of our most stunning gardens have secured spots on a list of the ten prettiest flower gardens in the world. The global study conducted by the London-based travel agency used online data to assess gardens around the world based on their beauty, uniqueness, and overall visitor experience. The rankings were then decided by a panel of experts and travel enthusiasts.

Coming in seventh place is the Singapore Botanic Gardens. It’s no surprise that our national garden comes up tops – the 82-hectare space has a history of over 160 years and is our country’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Among its many zones and areas like the Palm Valley, Symphony Lake, Evolution Garden, and Swan Lake, one of its gems is the National Orchid Garden. It was the first to pioneer orchid hybridisation and currently boasts over 1000 orchid species and 2000 award-winning orchid hybrids of various colours and patterns. Not to mention, entry to the Singapore Botanic Gardens is completely free.

Close on its heels is the renowned Gardens by the Bay. The poster child for futuristic cities, this garden has captured online attention around the world for its surreal Supertrees. The giant alien-like trees – when not being the backdrop for Instagram posts – provide a fantastic vantage point of the Marina Bay area from up on the canopy walk. Plus, come evening, the Supertree Grove lights up with dazzling nighttime illuminations that happen daily. Another main highlight is the Cloud Forest, which is home to one of the world’s tallest indoor waterfalls. Gardens by the Bay also holds frequent, large-scale thematic flower displays in its Flower Dome, like the now-running Impressions of Monet.
