The warabimochi craze in Singapore is at an all-time high, what with the recent launches of Warabimochi Kamakura outlets all around the island. Despite the long queues, Singaporeans can’t seem to get enough of the silky smooth Japanese dessert made of bracken starch. And this month, another famous F&B chain from Japan – Torori Tenshi No Warabi Mochi – will be setting foot in Singapore.

The new outlet at VivoCity will mark the brand’s first official store outside of Japan. It previously held a limited-time pop-up at Lot 10 in Kuala Lumpur this March, and currently has over 140 outlets across Japan, with a presence in every other city or prefecture.

On the menu are a total of 14 warabimochi drinks (from $7.80) in eight different flavours, including strawberry, mango, peach, Kuromitsu (Japanese sugar syrup), coffee, chocolate, milk tea, and matcha. The fruit series features fresh fruits like strawberries and mangoes, and comes with the option of a milk, yoghurt, or soda base.

Diners will also get to try Torori Tenshi’s colourful parfaits (from $10.80), which come loaded with ice cream and your choice of toppings, from premium Muscat grapes to pudding. The signature strawberry parfait ($11.80) sees a towering medley of matcha and vanilla ice cream, fresh fruits, dango, and warabimochi slices.

Those looking for something more traditional can opt for Torori Tenshi’s teapot sets (from $10.80) which all feature Ito En’s Ryokucha. The original warabimochi ($10.80) comes dusted with the usual kinako (soybean powder) and drizzled with black sugar syrup, and there’s also the freshly-made matcha warabimochi ($12.80) which has a slimy, light texture, accompanied by shiratama mochi balls and red bean paste.
