Capsule hotels often have a poor reputation for grubby sleeping quarters, limited toilet facilities, and a significant lack of privacy. But here’s where Cube Social@Boat Quay steps in to shake things up, proving that capsule hotels can be comfortable after all. Situated along the Singapore River, this newly opened capsule hotel offers a range of appealing features at wallet-friendly prices.

You’ll find the three-storey hotel nestled in a restored heritage shophouse, featuring 72 capsules with a mix of queen-sized and single beds. Those travelling in small groups can opt for one of the 13 private rooms, ranging from 11 sqm to 30 sqm. Solo female travellers will feel at ease in the female-only section, which offers 20 beds.

Each capsule includes a safe, charging outlet, foldable table, bedside light, and a hanger for your clothes. Rooms are equipped with footwear lockers, luggage storage, and even a small vanity area. At night, simply pull down the curtain at the entrance of your capsule, which effectively blocks out light and sound for a restful sleep.

Say you forgot to bring your shampoo or shower gel. ‘Fret not, as the amenity bar is stocked with free toiletries including eco-friendly shampoo and shower gel, in-room slippers, combs, shower caps, ear plugs, eye masks, shavers, mouth rinse, face towels, and disposable underwear. Feel free to borrow the complimentary books and board games too – the latter is a great way to bond with your roommates.

The hotel also has free daily housekeeping and laundry services, WiFi, and a 24-hour concierge.

Take the elevator to the third floor where the hotel’s bar lounge awaits. Refreshments are served all day, and you can head to the outdoor seating on the verandahs for lovely views of the Singapore River and the city skyline – take advantage of the stationary bicycles on the verandahs and clock in some cardio. If you’re planning to ‘work from away’ here, there are soundproof booths to take calls and meetings in.
