At outdoor weekend festival Sands for Singapore Charity Festival, it's time to do good while having an incredible time out. It's the 10th edition of this signature Marina Bay Sands charity event, and this year, it's themed ‘Where Hearts Come Together’. From August 23 to 25, we're all brought together to enjoy live music performances by local powerhouses, tasty bites from gourmet pop-ups, and upcycling workshops.

There'll also be a range of unique stalls at the Giving Marketplace where you can pick up handcrafted crafts or freshly baked goods, to aid meaningful causes and support enterprises. Head down to the Event Plaza to see how you can contribute to a good cause – all while having a blast.

Feast at gourmet food stalls

While giving back to the community is top of mind, you'll be doing just that by savouring delectable bites. We all know that Marina Bay Sands is filled with top-tier restaurants, and you’ll get to try their delectable treats at the festival.

Tuck into Black Tap's signature burgers and milkshakes, or dig into RISE's local delights with chicken satay and laksa. You’ll also want to try Yardbird's limited-time nasi lemak sandwich, featuring a crispy boneless chicken thigh that comes slathered with sambal and egg remoulade. Get a side of chilli fries with this hefty sandwich for a satisfying meal.

Join upcycling workshops

Make time to participate in a fun upcycling workshop at Heartwork: Upcycling For Good. It's at this booth where you'll make your own coaster or keychain, using the discarded plastic bottle caps of Marina Bay Sands. Through this craft activity, take the chance to understand the importance of upcycling and repurposing the unwanted. Token donations are accepted, with all proceeds going towards the AWWA Transitional Shelter programme.

Shop for a good cause at Giving Marketplace

You've got the perfect reason to go on a shopping spree – it's all for a good cause after all. Whether it's handmade clay jewellery from The Shy Crafter or crocheted toys from Olive Tree, these local social enterprises and non-profit organisations all support meaningful causes. You'll also want to check out the convenient tea wands from Tea Ideas, the handsewn wooden-handle bags of Teddy Thotz, and the gemstone soy candles of OliveandWoods. It’s a treasure trove of handmade items, all painstakingly crafted with care.

Try 10 unique flavours at ice cream pop-up Scoops of Hope

Swing by Marina Bay Sands before the festival weekend to try artisanal ice cream at Scoops of Hope. All flavours are novel and curated by Marina Bay Sands’ pastry team and renowned celebrity chef restaurants: Bread Street Kitchen, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Maison Boulud, and Waku Ghin.

All are unique, but we've got our eye on the Soy Caramel, a tasty mix of salty and sweet by Waku Ghin. The King, a Mao Shan Wang flavour that's served with ice kacang, is sure to be a popular favourite too this durian season. Other interesting flavours include the Kaya Toast, Bread Street Kitchen's Eton Mess, CUT's American Whiskey, and Maison Boulud's Mara des Bois, a wild strawberries sorbet.

From August 16 to 25 (10am-10pm)*, make sure to get your ice cream fix – a much-needed treat in the sweltering weather. A single scoop or soft serve is priced at $6, and a double scoop at $10. All proceeds go towards Metta Café, a dining space that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities. You'll find Scoops of Hope at The Shoppes (Basement 2) near Bacha Coffee.

*Closed on August 16 (2-4 30pm).
