Singapore’s Bayfront Event Space is set to shine like never before with the arrival of illumi, the world’s largest light, sound and multimedia illumination event, starting September 13, 2024. This marks the event’s international debut, featuring the world’s tallest illuminated tree titled ‘Tree of Lights’ that stands at 47 metres, a dazzling Carousel, and nine different segments filled with lifelike animatronics and thousands of installations lit up with a whopping 20 million LED lights.
illumi is created by the team behind Cavalia’s 2014 Bayfront spectacle and presented by Base Entertainment Asia. ““illumi is here to entertain you, dazzle you, and make you dream with your eyes wide open. No matter your age, illumi is a phenomenal journey into theimagination for your greatest pleasure,” says Creator of illumi and Cavalia, Normand Latourelle.
The multimedia light show first debuted in Montreal, Canada, back in 2019. In Singapore’s edition, visitors are invited to explore nine themed worlds such as The Enchanted Maples – one that will transport guests to Canada with glowing maple leaves and sweet treats from Sugar Shack. Other zones include a winter wonderland with shimmering snowflakes featuring curtains of twinkling lights titled Wall of Lights, and Puppies and Kitties, a space that will be taken over by 200 illuminated animal structures.
There will also be a dazzling display of multicoloured trees and majestic wildlife at The Magical Forest, and an installation where prehistoric creatures come to life at The Jurassic Kingdom. However, the centrepiece of illumi is definitely The Illumi Tree of Light, the world’s tallest illuminated tree that stands at 47 metres tall – equivalent to five stacked Merlions. Next to it is a magical carousel for all to ride on beneath the moonlight.
Tickets are priced from $33 and are available for purchase on TremTix and Pelago. Currently, there are slots all the way till December 8, 2024. DBS/POSB credit and debit cardholders are entitled to an exclusive early bird discount of 20 percent, until August 31, 2024 only.
