The National Gallery Singapore will debut two restaurants by chef Damian D’Silva this September

Look forward to a blend of Singaporean and Eurasian flavours

We were hit with heartbreaking news earlier this year when the National Gallery Singapore bid farewell to five of its seven dining establishments. But don’t worry – the museum won’t stay (almost) devoid of food options for long. Come September, two exciting new F&B concepts are set to breathe fresh life into the space.

Helmed by local chef  Damian D’Silva – who’s also a MasterChef Singapore judge – Rempapa as well as the upcoming Gilmore & Damian D’Silva by OUE Restaurants will join the museum’s gastronomic line-up. It’s all part of a wider revamp to shine a spotlight on Singapore’s rich cultural heritage.

This move carries a hint of nostalgia too. Chef Damian shares a personal connection to the historic Supreme Court as his grandfather served as a caretaker there for over two decades. The 68-year-old chef grew up exploring the very corridors that now form part of the National Gallery Singapore.

Fittingly, the new Gilmore & Damian D’Silva will pay homage to the past, dishing out a modern take on traditional Eurasian dishes, including beloved classics from the 1900s that draw inspiration from his grandfather’s recipes.

If Rempapa rings a bell, it’s because the restaurant is already a Michelin-selected favourite located at Park Place Residences at PLQ. But come September, it’ll relocate to the National Gallery Singapore as an all-day café, serving local heritage dishes with a contemporary twist.

While full menus for both venues are still under wraps, the museum has shared that dining will be kept accessible. For example, Rempapa’s rice bowls will be priced from just $9.90.
