Its official opening may only be in October 2019 but Sentosa's new tenant, The Barracks Hotel is already accepting room bookings. The luxury hotel by Far East Hospitality offers five-star accommodation and is located in the same precinct as the family-friendly Village Hotel at Sentosa and The Outpost Hotel, which caters exclusively to adults.
The Barracks Hotel occupies a 1904 colonial building which originally served as a British military outpost after World War II and has been meticulously restored to accommodate 40 well-designed guestrooms and suites. It is also the first five-star hotel to open in Sentosa in three years since Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa in 2015.

Inside, the decor hints at the building’s past, with a blend of vintage elements such as old-school writing desks and drawers inspired by antique suitcases, combined with modern elements that result in a warm and timeless ambience. Accommodation-wise, guests can choose between premier rooms and one-bedroom suites. The latter spans 59 sqm, each with a separate living area. Suites on the ground floor offer direct access to the pool from the patio, and even a private jacuzzi.
The Barracks Hotel joins Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s (SLH) portfolio of over 530 independently-spirited hotels in more than 80 countries around the globe.
Special opening packages are available for stays from October to December 2019, with rates starting from $500. All bookings for stays during this period come with daily breakfast, late check out 3pm, one-way airport transfer, Barracks Heritage Walking Tour, and daily evening cocktails at The Living Room. All entitlements are valid for two guests.
