Thailand will be relaxing entry regulations for foreign visitors in an attempt to bring tourism back to its booming pre-Covid days. The Test & Go scheme has resumed since Feb 1, but as of now, we are still required to take an RT-PCR test on our fifth day and to stay in an approved hotel.

But come Mar 1, Thailand will be easing Covid-19 testing rules: for the fifth day, there will no longer be a required RT-PCR test nor a required stay in an approved hotel. As the Thai government has announced, this is what we’ll need to do as foreign visitors heading over the next month:

  • 1 x RT-PCR test within 72 hours before travelling
  • 1 x RT-PCR test upon arrival to Thailand
  • A one-night stay in an approved hotel for quarantine purposes upon arrival
  • 1 x self-administered antigen test (ART), and to submit the self-test result to tracing app Mor Chana

Undoubtedly, this will help reduce travel costs. The Thai government will also be reducing the required amount of travel insurance coverage from US$50,000 to US$20,000.

In addition to our current VTL with Bangkok, there will also be VTL flights to Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Phuket added in March 2022.
