If you’ve been hesitating about getting your Covid-19 shot, Singapore’s favourite contractor Phua Chu Kang is back to say, “Better faster vaccinate!”

In a reprisal of his hit role on the Mediacorp TV Channel 5 sitcom Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd, comedian Gurmit Singh hams it up with screen wife Rosie (played by Irene Ang) in an infectious disco number. In his trademark yellow boots, curly hair and mole, Phua Chu Kang works to persuade Rosie to get her shot, while allaying common fears about Covid-19 vaccinations. And of course, what’s a PSA fronted by Phua Chu Kang without copious amounts of Singlish and iconic phrases like “steady pom pi pi” and “your mother never teach you meh?”.

The video has garnered more than 800,000 views on the Singapore Government’s Twitter channel and 100,000 views on YouTube. It has also gained attention beyond Singapore, JB and some say Batam – making headlines on the likes of The New York TimesThe Guardian and ABC News.
