The brainchild of Shipping Container Hotel and LAUD Architects, this new green staycation offers guests the opportunity to stay overnight surrounded by lush greenery. Housed within the unique foliage of Serene Garden, the two-storey Garden Pod suites is a stone’s throw away from The Meadow and Bayfront MRT station. Aside from a great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, the Garden Pod is also built with sustainability in mind. Each of the upper levels of the four suites are built from repurposed shipping containers with panels installed on its rooftop that generate solar energy, contributing to 80 per cent of the hotel’s needs. The drinking glasses in the hotel are made from repurposed glassware by Soda Lemon artisans while the soil in terrarium displays are produced by using upcycled horticulture and landscaping waste by homegrown company Soil Social.
