Here's an adorable update – Singapore's very first giant panda cub Le Le (he has a name now!) is on his way to being quite the expert climber.
Born on August 14 2021, Le Le is now just under 5 months old. According to the Mandai Wildlife Group, the cub has been working hard to build up his strength and motor skills so that he's ready for his debut in the exhibit with his mom Jia Jia. In his play den, Le Le climbs strategically placed logs and gets his little mind working on enrichment toys provided by the care team.
Le Le now weighs in at a healthy 12.19 kg (as of January 26), and if you ask us, that sounds delightfully 'chonky'! Coo over more pictures of him being effortlessly cute – you can thank us later.
Check him out hanging off a branch. Le Le seems to take after his father Kai Kai, who is often spotted lounging in a tree in his exhibit at River Wonders' Giant Panda Forest.
The giant panda cub is seen here munching on bamboo. The plant will soon form most of his diet. According to his care team, he's one curious and fearless explorer.
And here's Le Le rolling happily in some leaves. Learn from Le Le – take joy in the small things!
