While most of us are fighting fit during the 'circuit breaker', experiencing a prolonged period of staying in while keeping our distance from our loved ones can take a toll. So if you're feeling blue, know that you're not alone and that Singapore is right here for you.
The #SeeItBlue campaign is an offshoot of the global #MakeItBlue movement that aims to raise awareness for mental wellbeing and highlight the importance of mental health. The campaign started in the UK and is now active in 17 other countries including USA, France, Italy, Australia, South Korea and Japan. The light up for #SeeItBlue is also an opportunity to show our gratitude to all the key workers on the frontline keeping the wheels turning during this time. This includes healthcare workers, cleaners, public transport drivers and food delivery workers.
The light show will happen every Thursday at 8pm from now till the end of the 'circuit breaker' on June 1. There are currently more than 30 participating venues including iconic landmarks like Marina Bay Sands, ArtScience Museum, Fullerton Hotel, Gardens By The Bay, The Arts House, Victoria Theatre, Victoria Concert Hall, ION Orchard, Helix Bridge, Cavenagh Bridge, Esplanade, Raffles Hotel Singapore, Esplanade and Sentosa.
If you need help during these tough times, the Samaritans of Singapore hotline is open 24 hours and you can reach out to them at 1800-221 4444. If you the means to help, look to help out these charities in Singapore.
