The world's most celebrated pizza pastry chef will be holding an exclusive pop-up in Singapore this October, bringing us a slice of good news as we wrap up the month. For the unacquainted, Chef Roberto Davanzo is known for his pizza pastries or dessert pizzas. Currently, he holds the title of the World’s Best Pizza Pastry Chef, awarded by The Best Chef Awards. Chef Davanzo also holds the 19th spot on the 50 Top Pizza Italy 2024 ranking, and the 18th spot on the world’s Top 100 Pizza 2023 list.

From October 16 to 18, Chef Davanzo will be personally serving his award-winning pizzas to guests in Singapore as part of a three-night-only pop-up. And there’s no better place to host the world’s finest pizza pastry chef than La Bottega Enoteca, Singapore’s best pizzeria according to the 50 Top Pizza awards.

Chef Davanzo will be bringing over popular items from his restaurant in Italy, Bob Alchimia A Spicchi. Bob Alchimia A Spicchi started in 2016 as a small takeaway pizzeria serving pizzas by the slice. It soon became a dine-in venue just eight months after opening due to its popularity. 2018 saw the restaurant’s first feature in the Gambero Rosso Pizzerie d’Italia guide, and since then, it has gone on to win several accolades across different guides in Italy and the world.

Here in Singapore, diners can look forward to an eight-course dinner menu ($148) inspired by Calabrian culinary traditions. Chef Davanzo’s iconic sweet pizza – the Supersoft – will be served, featuring mango and lemon with mascarpone and pepper cream. Guests will also be trying Davanzo’s ‘pizza bites’, which are mini pizza slices crowned with a medley of toppings, from anchovies, to carrots, and even bone marrow mayo. There will also be classic round pizzas like the Amatricalabra and Verza.
