In Prime Minister’s Lee Hsien Loong’s latest address to the nation regarding Covid-19 measures, we will no longer be required to wear face masks when outdoors. This will start Tuesday, March 29. While Prime Minister Lee urges us to continue wearing masks to keep safe and to maintain personal responsibility, we’re now excited that we now have the option. This includes outdoor areas like HDB void decks, bus stops, open unenclosed spaces like parks and nature fields, as well as open-air sheltered walkways and bridges.

However, masks will still be required when indoors – you’ll also need to keep a safe distance of one metre between groups while in mask-off situations. When in office buildings, shopping malls, and lifts, make sure to wear your mask. The same regulations apply for hawker centres, coffee shops, wet markets, along with HDB retail shops, classrooms, and libraries. You'll also need to while travelling via public transport.
