Nifty Fifty is a new series where the Time Out Singapore team spends $50 any way they want around town – and we share the experience. Whether it's a secret joint for a boozy night out, a budget (but ace) omakase place or an interesting item we've been eyeing at the shops, we let you in on the cool stores, eateries, places and activities you should be spending at.
Of course Singaporeans are familiar with our neighbouring state, Johor Bahru. Food, massage, shopping, fun activities – JB has it all, at a fraction of the price. This month, our City Life writer, Izza Sofia, shows what you can do at JB with $50.
Verdict: Going to JB is always a good idea! If you love the excitement of carnivals, Euro Fun Park is where you should be at. Take on the Euro Wheel, Wave Swinger, Vortex, Frightmare, Mega Coaster among others. Head to Jobox after some giddy fun. Located a street away from where the carnival is at, Jobox offers food, drinks and even has a flea market for some second-hand treasures. Alternatively, gobble on some food at Banafee Village, which is no stranger to Singaporeans as well. The total bill racks up to only $44.50!
