The Japanese doughnut chain Mister Donut made waves when it opened its first outlet in Singapore last May. But don’t be surprised to see queues forming again, because four new matcha flavoured doughuts will be released this month as part of a collaboration with Morihan, a renowned teahouse in Japan.
Morihan hails from Uji, Kyoto, and has been around since 1836. The establishment specialises in Uji matcha, which is the highest grade of matcha known for its vibrant colour and exceptional flavour.
From February to June this year, expect to see Mister Donut’s bestselling chewy pon de ring doughnut topped with Morihan matcha and white chocolate glaze. Other variations include the matcha old fashion doughnut, matcha French cruller doughnut, and a yeast doughnut stuffed with a blend of Morihan matcha and Mister Donut’s signature angel cream and custard cream filling.
The four doughnuts will be available during the following periods:
- Uji Matcha Pon De Ring: February 27 - June 2
- Uji Matcha Old Fashion: February 27 - April 8
- Uji Matcha French: April 9 - June 2
- Uji Matcha Cream: April 9 - June 2
