As we approach the end of the 'circuit breaker' slowly and surely, McDonald’s delivers us with some good news. On May 11, the establishment will be ready to take your eager orders again via contactless delivery, drive-thru and takeaway. The fast-food giant had previously suspended all restaurant operations from April 19 as a "preventive measure" following advice from the Ministry of Health.
It announced that most of its outlets will be open from 7am to 9pm. However, the chain will be operating with reduced staff and 24-hour service, dessert kiosks and McCafe counters will not be available during the 'circuit breaker' period. Some of the outlets will have different opening hours and those located in parks, tourist attractions and selected institutions will also remain closed for now.
If you are one of those who will be looking forward to indulging in the breakfast McMuffins, hotcakes, the McSpicy or a regular ol' cheeseburger ASAP, do be patient if your order is taking a while as the establishment is expecting a huge influx of orders. If you are planning to takeaway some grub, most McDonald's outlets will be observing safety measures like temperature-taking, safe distancing guides, as well as SafeEntry registration for contact tracing purposes. McDelivery services will also be fully contactless and will only accept cashless payments. For more info about the outlets and opening hours, you can visit the website.
As wonderful as the announcement is, remember not to rush and it is still our responsibility to avoid crowded places and minimise going out unless for essentials until the 'circuit breaker' is over. In the meantime, you can check out more F&B options in Singapore or even cook some meals at home.
