The Mandai Wildlife sector is poppin’, with the recent announcements of the upcoming Rainforest Wild Asia park and Mandai Rainforest Resort. As we enter the new year, we’re adding one more thing to the list – the Mandai Boardwalk, now open to the public.
What can I expect at the Mandai Boardwalk?
Bookmark this new 3.3km-long boardwalk as your next hiking trail to conquer. The path will take you past Upper Seletar Reservoir and the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, before circling back along the perimeter of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo. Don’t rush past the Singapore Zoo, as you can get a peep inside and observe the caretaking of some animals like the Rothschild’s giraffes. There’ll be plenty of local wildlife along the way too, including the straw-headed bulbul and flocks of long-tailed parakeets.
The boardwalk features five wildlife-themed spots and a lookout point that provides a stunning view of Upper Seletar Reservoir. These stations include the Tree Frog’s Hangout and the Iora’s Nest, all of which are named after wildlife that exist in both the forest and water ecosystems here. Should you need a rest, head to the Damselfly’s Wing rest station to catch a break.
Where are the entrances to the Mandai Boardwalk located?
There are two entrances to the Mandai Boardwalk, with the first located near River Wonders. The other entrance can be found at Mandai Wildlife East, a public space connecting Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and Mandai Rainforest Resort. There’ll be F&B places and children’s playgrounds added to Mandai Wildlife East in the future.
You’ll be able to spot these two entrances easily – simply look out for the adorable animal-inspired signages located at the front. These entrances are open everyday, from 7am-7pm.
Is there an entry fee for the Mandai Boardwalk?
The boardwalk is free for the public to access.
