All fans of Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin will be more than pleased to know that he’ll soon be launching a new Taiwanese coffee joint in 2023. But for those too eager to wait, from September 30 (12pm) onwards we can all head over to his 90-day pop-up Miracle Coffee outdoor kiosk that’s opened its doors right outside the Rain Oculus, the ArtScience Museum’s main water feature.
Miracle Coffee has already been in the likes of bustling cities like Shanghai and Taipei, and folks have lapped up its hand-dripped brews: single-origin espresso beans are sourced from specialty coffee suppliers all over the world, from Panama to Ethiopia. While the menu is fairly stock-standard, it’s the Singapore-exclusive Kaya Cloud that we’ll be wanting to try. By the sound of this particular drink, there’ll be at least some use of coconut jam and shaved gula melaka – but the full menu and pricing details aren’t yet fully confirmed.
As multi-award-winning artist JJ Lin says, “we wanted a scenic location that can stage the intimate scene of coffee lovers revelling in a smooth cup of coffee”. Well, that’s for sure since ArtScience Museum has one of the most scenic locations in all of Singapore – panoramic waterfront views of the Marina Bay waterfront promenade justifies this.
If we take a look at Miracle Coffee’s Taiwanese menu, there’s some potential that Singapore’s menu will reflect similar savoury dishes. Perhaps a Sloppy Joe or a Chicken and Waffles, but whatever it is, there could very well be a hearty brunch menu in line for us with the proper 2023 opening.
We’ll keep you updated, but for now, slot September 30 as the opening of Miracle Coffee in your calendar.
