Okay Lil’ Monsters, the rumours are cooking – Lady Gaga, aka Mother Monster, might just make Singapore her only Southeast Asian stop for her upcoming Mayhem tour. And get this: word on the street is she won’t just be performing for one or two nights but for several nights in a row, much like Coldplay and Taylor Swift’s record-breaking runs in 2024.

Lady Gaga is a pop powerhouse known for her dramatic, genre-defying music. Bursting onto the scene with The Fame (2008), she redefined pop with earworms like Poker Face and Bad Romance. Over the years, she’s conquered multiple genres – from electronic dance anthems to jazz collaborations with Tony Bennett and the country-tinged Joanne. Her critically acclaimed A Star Is Born soundtrack earned her an Oscar for Shallow, adding to her collection of Grammys, Golden Globes, and a BAFTA. Gaga’s upcoming eighth studio album, Mayhem, is set to drop this week on March 7, 2025, and it will be the centerpiece of her upcoming world tour.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, industry insiders suggest that the freshly crowned Grammy winner could arrive in May for a multi-night run at the Singapore National Stadium, with four to six shows in the works. However, the Singapore Tourism Board has remained tight-lipped about the possibility of Lady Gaga performing in Singapore – though the claim was not denied either. When asked, Tourism Board’s Director of Leisure and Tourism Activities, Guo Teyi, simply stated that authorities welcome more world-class performances in the city.

And there's more fueling the rumours – Hong Kong news outlet HK01 quoted Rosanna Law, Hong Kong's newly appointed tourism chief, confirming that Gaga will be performing “somewhere nearby”. Law has also emphasised that Hong Kong embraces “healthy competition” amid the buzz surrounding Singapore potentially being Lady Gaga’s sole Asian stop for her Mayhem tour.

So, what will it be: an epic Mayhem tour in Singapore, or not? Only time will tell, so stay tuned for more updates.
