Property group Lendlease has put out an open call for submissions of visual concepts and name suggestions for the event space. Running from now till September 19, the public call aims to engage folks like you and I, in bringing the Somerset belt to life.

"Through the contest, we hope to learn more about how the community envisions the new space in Somerset, and be inspired to bring creative ideas to life. The redevelopment will elevate the retail and lifestyle offerings along Orchard Road while strengthening Somerset's reputation as a dynamic youth hub," says Kelvin Chow, CEO of the Manager of Lendlease Global Commercial REIT ("LREIT").

Some details to know: the carpark will soon be developed into a plug-and-play entertainment zone. Through a partnership with Live Nation, Lendlease will be bringing a packed calendar of music, film, food and other thrilling events to the 48,200 square foot open-air carpark. And the chance is yours to suggest a visual language to express the youthful energy of the upcoming space. Want to see a skatepark, farmer's market, city park, giant swimming pool or another retail experience pop up in the middle of Orchard? Your imagination's the limit.

Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and how well the concept represents the spirit of the space. And there are prizes up for grabs too. Three winners will be chosen, with the grand prize winner taking home $1000 worth of Lendlease vouchers. The top prize winner will also get to see their entry brought to life by local artist Tell Your Children (TYC), who will design and paint the hoardings around the site based on the winning submission.
