One of the best things about yoga is that you can do it anytime and anywhere. And Virgin Active has just introduced a wicked new spot beyond the walls of its yoga studios and gyms: Marina Bay Sands SkyPark.
If you had to do a double-take to make sure you read that right, yes, you did. The fitness group has just launched SkyPark Yoga by Virgin Active at Marina Bay Sands, which is held at both sunrise and sunset 57 storeys above the city skyline. Feel empowered as you stand strong Virabhadrasana (Warrior) pose overlooking panoramic vistas of Marina Bay as the sun sets and rises. Then, lie back in Savasana as the sky goes from deep blue to pink and orange right above you.
The series of classes, led by Virgin Active yoga teachers, is available from July 20 with two sessions a day: at 6.45am and 6.30pm. Each class will have varying intensities. A total of 16, 45-minute classes will be held weekly, all of which are available for public booking via the SkyPark Yoga.
For a fully immersive experience, each participant will be equipped with a set of professional wireless headphones for the class. You can focus on your form as you receive crystal-clear instructions as though the yoga teacher is right beside you, and enjoy soothing music to accompany your session.
You don't have to be a Virgin Active member to sign up for the yoga classes, too. The experience costs $30 for the public, $20 for Sands Reward LifeStyle members and $15 for Virgin Active members.
