Japanese eyewear brand Owndays is stepping up to reduce the prices of 200 of their spectacle designs, aiming to keep prices affordable for all amidst the rising cost of living. And if that’s not lovely enough – they will also be absorbing the 1% increase in GST this year. This mirrors the approach taken when they absorbed the 1% GST hike in 2023.
“This repricing strategy is in line with our corporate philosophy which is to enrich the lives of our customers by remaining accessible, constantly innovating, and bringing new and improved products and services from Japan to the world,” says Trevor Hwong, General Manager of Owndays Singapore.
200 spectacles will receive a price reduction of $20. This includes their own exclusive collections including John Dillinger, lillybell, Junni (kids range), Owndays Metal, and Owndays Plastic.
The Japanese eyewear brand is able to offer customers this sweet deal by practising these business methods: they internally manage their business processes to cut costs by eliminating intermediaries, benefit from operational optimisation through their extensive network of over 500 stores worldwide, and deliberately maintain lower personal profit margins.
