It seems like third spaces are the next big thing this year. Whether it’s a go-to bar, a gym, or a book club, people are finding unique spots apart from their homes and offices to call their own and connect with like-minded folks. Take that up a tier and you have members-only clubs, offering an extra touch of glamour and exclusivity to those who crave it.
Singapore is already home to several of these – take Mandala Club or 1880 for example – and this year, we're welcoming a new one to the list, one that’s quite unlike anything we’ve seen before. Ebisu Flower Park from Tokyo is one of Japan’s most coveted members clubs, and in 2025, the floral-themed bar will be unveiling its first Singapore branch at a secret location disclosed to insiders only.
The cocktail club currently has 13 locations in Japan, with several more slated to open by the end of February, including in Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Kyoto, and more. There are also planned future launches in London, New York, Seoul, and Shanghai.
Here in Singapore, you can expect Ebisu’s signature “midnight flower park” concept, with gorgeous displays of real flowers which act as stunning backdrops for photographs, plus a range of floral cocktails. Floral arrangements at Ebisu are meticulously taken care of by an in-house florist, while cocktails (around $26) are based on the changing seasons and their respective blooms. For instance, in the Japan outlets, pansies take centre stage in January, followed by tulips in February, sakura in March, and so on. Apart from cocktails, there will also likely be non-alcoholic drinks and snacks on the menu.
On top of the bar’s signature floral aesthetic, each venue also promises something different. The main branch in Tokyo’s Ebisu business district showcases flowers from across the world, while the Shibuya specialty store offers parfaits on top of cocktails. That said, many are looking forward to what the Singapore branch might offer – perhaps a display of some of our native flowers?
Here’s what you’re probably most curious about – the membership fees. Ebisu Flower Park offers two kinds of memberships, single-store and all-access passes. For obvious reasons, the all-access pass is the more popular choice. For approximately $800, you’ll get access to all Ebisu stores in Japan and around the world, including those that have yet to open.
There also aren't any additional monthly fees nor limit to the number of times you can visit, and it’s a lifetime membership that doesn’t expire. And here’s the cherry on top: each member gets to bring along three companions per visit. Meanwhile, single-store passes cost around $300. Considering the price of joining a members-only club in Singapore typically ranges in the thousands, Ebisu's memberships are quite the steal.
