You might want to get your flight tickets ready because Bangkok's first luxury outlet mall, Central Village is set to open August 31. And the international shopping destination is just a ten minute-drive away from the airport. The 5 billion baht development is helmed by Thailand's largest retail operator, Central Pattana.

Time Out Bangkok first announced the opening of the Central Village in December last year. This morning, the retail operator has just received clearance – so the mall is right on track to open this Saturday. Once opened, the retail operator will be the first to bring an international outlet shopping experience in Bangkok. This will be similar to the Citygate Outlets in Hong Kong and Mitsui Outlet Park in Japan.

The new development occupies a total retail space of 40,000-square-metres and is set to house more than 235 local and international retail stores, with 35- to 70- percent off retail prices from brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Kenzo, Superdry, Coach, Under Armour, Puma, and Onitsuka Tiger.

There will also be a myriad of restaurants, a tourist service centre, a kids' playground, supermarkets, and a 200-room hotel operated by an international chain. Hey, you don't even have to leave the airport premises to shop to your heart's content.
