Sweltering weather aside, we all love a bowl of ramen in Singapore – a hearty tonkotsu broth and well-cooked noodles are all it takes to make us happy. One of the original ramen chains is no other than Ippudo, originally from Fukuoka but has been a mainstay in our ramen scene since the early 2010s.

In celebration of our local hawker culture, Ippudo has since joined hands with some of our most loved hawker stalls and zi char joints: Da Dong Prawn Noodles, Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck & Kway Chap, and Keng Eng Kee Seafood (KEK). Now, these all have made their mark on Singapore’s culinary scene for a multitude of reasons. Respectively, when it comes to Ippudo’s newly-introduced hawker set, that includes Da Dong’s prawn noodle soup, Jin Ji’s braised duck, and KEK’s coffee-marinated meat.

For $28, Ippudo will be launching their Hawker Heritage Set so you can experience all flavours of the three hawkers for yourself in one sitting. The star of the show is the Hae Ramen, which takes both Da Dong’s prawn noodle soup and Ippudo’s tonkotsu broth into consideration. Not exactly your traditional bowl of prawn mee here, but you still have large prawns, beansprouts, and fried garlic – all topped up with a tamago egg and deep-fried pork lard. Even a scoop of Mediacorp actor Li Nanxing’s scallop hae bee hiam paste (dried shrimp chilli) makes an appearance, for an extra boost of slightly caramelised flavour.

The sides showcase the best of the other two hawker stalls, with Jin Ji’s braised duck featured in a lor ark bun and KEK’s coffee sauce used to marinate chicken karaage. You can try it at Ippudo’s outlet at Marina Bay Sands (#B2-45/55) and it’s only available for a limited time only.
