Singapore might be small in size but we’ve got plenty of luxe hotels for a quick escape, including the top city hotel in the world. If you’ve ever strolled the grounds of the 18-hectare Fort Canning Park, you’ve likely seen the luxury heritage Hotel Fort Canning – housed in a historic 20th century building that once functioned as a British military administration site. All things considered – its rich history, lush surroundings, and prime location – Hotel Fort Canning should be as popular as other hotels in town; however, it remains an underrated gem.

Well, that’s set to change with its rebrand to Mett Singapore, helmed by Dubai-based Sunset Hospitality Group – the same team behind Singapore’s branch of the world-famous SushiSamba.

Set to reopen on October 1, 2025, the new hotel will feature redesigned modern minimalist-style guestrooms, public spaces and meeting facilities. Mett Singapore will also have three to four unique dining concepts, which have yet to be announced.

Get excited because along with a fresh look, the hotel will include a new beach club concept open to the public – transformed from Hotel Fort Canning’s existing swimming pool – along with a new speakeasy.
